Smackdown Sunday!!!

Well, this is the 1st of many accidents I'm sure!  HA!  We were all 3 rolling around the living room and somehow Brady grabbed the inside of daddys nose and blood starting dripping everywhere!  HA!  He scratched the inside of his nose and cut it!  HAHA!  I told Richie that there will be many more accidents in the future, but we had to document the 1st one!  Watch out dad - we have a tough boy on our hands!

Brandy had her baby!!! Welcome Baby Lily Kate!!!

Lily Kate is here!!  And yes, this first picture is kind of random - but, Brandy had 1 request when I went down to visit her and Nathan and Baby Lily.  She was craving donuts!  So, I stopped at Shipley Donuts and got her and Nathan their favorites!  It reminded me a lot of my Pa...Shipley Donuts were his absolute favorites for years and I had to eat one in his honor.  He would have been thrilled for Brandy and her new baby b/c he thought of Brandy as another grandkid!  So, here's to you Pa - we love and miss you!

Now - WELCOME Lily Kate - is she not GORGEOUS?!?!?  Seriously!!!  She weighed 6lbs and 11oz when she was born!  Holding her brought back memories of when we brought Brady home from the hospital and it's seriously so hard to remember that he was this tiny!!  He's such a big boy now!  But, just 5 & 1/2 months ago he was this small!  She's going to get big before they know it - you blink and months pass.  It's just crazy...

Here is an awake shot - tell me she isn't the cutest thing you've ever seen!?!?  Brady has spotted a new girlfriend!!! 

And, Ginger did so good with her!  She was very curious and wanted to know everything about her new sister!  HA!  It was funny!  We put Lily in her swing and Ginger would stand on her back legs and wave with her front paws - it was PRECIOUS!  She LOVES Lily!

Brandy, Lily Kate and Aunt Wen Wen!  I mean, seriously - Brandy had Lily on Monday - this is Thursday...How good does she look???  I know for a fact that it took me weeks to look somewhat normal and Brandy was looking great!  And, doing so good!  Trying to do WAY to much but I thought she was such a great natural mother!  I am so proud of how well she is doing!  And, I knew she was going to be FABULOUS but her and Nathan both have handled having no sleep, breastfeeding, etc. like CHAMPS!  She is one special girl and I'm lucky to be her Auntie!!!

Photo Shoot!

One day this week Richie went out to run errands and I decided that it would be fun to have a photo shoot with Brady!  I ordered these leg warmers for the Super Bowl but they didn't come in on time so I thought before he outgrew his "Quarterback in training" outfit I would put the two together with Daddys football from college and take a couple of pics!  I thought they turned out great!  He is pretty handsome if I saw so myself!!  I think he's gonna take after his daddy and play football - thoughts anyone???

Whats new this week???

Yes, Brady has been sitting up for a few weeks now...But now he will sit up and play with things!  He's really big into balls and of course putting things in his mouth!  HA!  But he has a lot more control with only a couple of faceplants here and there! 

And, you can't tell from the picture in his jumper but he is touching the ground now!  It's been on the lowest setting since Christmas and he has been happy in it, but now he will bounce around!  He LOVES it!  Also, he's been eating rice cereal and oatmeal for the past couple of weeks but this past week he tried carrots!  He liked them!  Although, they stain...I'll have to strip him down to his diaper next time!  I guess you learn...

5 months old!!!

Well - guess who is 5 months old?!?!?!  This little man!!  As you can see he is sitting up on his own, and boy is he into everything!!  Here is a run down on things that are going on...Brady Ray Butler is now wearing size 6 month clothing, size 3 diapers and weighs 16lbs!

Oh, cool...I just like to hang out and play!

He is also now FINALLY in the crib - milestone - THIS WEEK!  On his 5 month old birthday we put him in the crib and it went better than expected.  Night 1 - cried for 6 minutes and was out.  Woke up about 1:30AM and Richie patted him back to sleep and he slept til 6:30AM...Night 2 - I put him down and he fussed for about 10sec and was out.  Woke up about 1 and Richie patted him back to sleep and he slept until 7AM...Night 3 - I put him right down (NO FUSSING AT ALL) and about 2AM the Angel Care Monitor went off.  Of course Richie was at work and it gave me a heart attack!!!  I flew across the house only to find that he had wiggled his way sideways at the bottom of the crib.  Crisis averted...Thank goodness!  And, now that we've started a habit (more than 3 days) the crib has been going great!!  YAY!!So he's been sleeping about 10-6:30 every night now!  And, he is doing great with eating rice cereal now and actually likes it!  I'm sure we will start on veggies next!!!  What a blessing Brady is to us!  These past 5 months have been great and we wouldn't change one single thing!!!

Valentine's Day!

So, Richie worked on Valentine's Day and Brady thought it would be fun to go and visit his Daddy and the other firemen at the station and surprise them with a blizzard from Dairy Queen!  They LOVED it!  They were so surprised and they had the best time!  Brady had his Valentine outfit on and it said "#1 with the ladies" - everyone loved it!! He had a great time!  And yes, those pictures were taken with our cell phones so they aren't that clear...

Then, when I got home from work the next day - Brady surprised me with a homemade card!  He and Daddy worked on it all day!  How precious!  My most favorite card EVER!  Best Valentine's Day - a great meal, a sweet card and lots of love from all around!  XOXO!

Sunday...

Sunday we all went to church - Brady was on his best behavior!  Then Richie and I went to the gym and got a great workout in and went to SAM's where he bought us steaks!  We came home and Richie made us a nice Valentine's Day dinner (we did dinner on Sunday since he was working on Monday) and he grilled steaks and we had sweet potatoes and salad and it was DE-LISH!!!  It was our first Valentine's Day Dinner with a +1 and it was FUN!!

Cocktail party!

Kin and Kate are getting married on March 5th and one of her parents friends had a "Cocktail Party" for them on Saturday night.  It was fun!  We went to Theo's afterward with Joey & Serena and had some appitizers and a drink!  It was a fun Saturday night!  And Brady was back at the house getting spoiled!

Weekend fun!

Babs and Grampie came to watch little Brady this past weekend!  We had a lot going on this weekend - one of our really good friends lost his dad and we had a funeral to go to.  So they got there early so we could go there and have lunch with a few friends and run some errands before getting ready for Kin & Kate's cocktail party!  When they got there, Brady wanted to give them their Valentine's gift.  Notice that he's holding that big bag!!  There are only pics inside, but it was just too cute how he held on to the bag and wouldn't let it go!

Then, they gave Brady his Valentine's gift.  He was so excited and dug right on into that sack!  It was hysterical!  It already makes me excited about Christmas this year because I think it's going to be so much fun watching him!  YAY!  He got a crinkle book, a little dog that says "I woof you" and a little Valentine's cash from Babs & Grampie!  He also got a package in the mail from MeMe & PaPa and it was a weenie dog that sang "I wanna kiss you all over" and it's ears move up and down and it's tail jingles a bell.  It's hysterical!  And, Nana & Pappy sent some Valentine's Day cash too!  So, I'd say he got spoiled for his 1st Valentine's Day!     XOXO!

What to do when we have a ton of snow & we don't want to go outside?

We play with the dogs!!  Brady LOVES the dogs!  As you can see from the pictures Bubby likes to steal kisses from him which Brady LOVES and he will reach out to them too, which you can see from the picture with Bailey.  We can't wait til he's a little older and can actually play with them.  We weren't too sure how they would do with him, but they have adjusted really well and they are GREAT with him!!!

We find new things to do...Brady found a new toy - yes, an empty water bottle...I swear he likes it more than his expensive toys!  Doesn't that just figure???  I can tell we will be doing things like filling it with rocks, etc. to entertain him!  We also tried rice cereal AGAIN...Still not that interested...He did at least move it around in his mouth more this time...But, in the end pushed it right out with his tongue!

And, he SAT UP on his own!!!!  Pretty cool!!!  You can tell he thinks he is a big boy!  Which he is!!

Record Breaking Snowstorm!

The top picture was taken at 6:30AM.  Richie got off work at 7AM and what normally takes him 15 minutes to get home, it took him an hour and 15 minutes!  The 2nd picture was taken at 8:15AM - you can tell how much more snow had fallen in less than 2 hours!!!  He said that it was the worst he had seen and he was actually very nervous he wasn't going to make it home!  Said that there were tons of cars that had went off into the ditch and even a SNOW PLOW in front of him that was in the ditch and he felt terrible not stopping to help, but he had to get home to his family and if he stopped he may not be able to do that!!  Thank goodness he made it home!!  The snow was almost covering his tires at this time!

The news said that Springdale got 22 inches of snow, but we feel like it was 2 feet or more like Siloam Springs had...Either way - it was WAY TOO MUCH!!!  Here is our backyard too...

The dogs didn't wander off the back patio much.  Bubby would have gotten lost in the snow if he would have gone off too far!  You can tell he was looking for something in the snow just by the leftovers on his face!  HA!  A pee pee break turned into less than a minute in these temps!!  This last picture was a random trick we tried...My manager called asked the temp and when we told her she said that boiling water would freeze and turn to mist in mid-air.  We just happened to be boiling eggs at the time, so we tried it.  Richie doesn't recommend trying this at home, but we did!  It was true!!!  I just happened to catch it mid-air and sure enough - the mist went from our house to the road before it evaporated...MADNESS!!

Super Bowl Sunday!

The above 2 pictures are him thinking that he is going to the Super Bowl when in fact we were going to church...Then, when we got home and ready he took over daddys recliner and remote!  Boy, he runs this house!!  HAHA!!

He then took over my chaise in the living room and posed with Daddy during the beginning of the game!  He LOVES his football!!  And he is ready for the Packers to win!!!

He started getting really excited when we told him that his friend Maddox was coming over to watch the game!!  So, they posed together on the couch...Looks like the beginning of a football team to me!!  What a great week - they pass by way too fast!!  Hard to believe that he will be 5 months next week - where has the time gone???

What? Another snow day????????

Well, against Richies rules...I went out and worked on Friday...Probably not the best idea since people were sliding all around me...But, I managed to see 7 doctors and a pharmacy before the snow was out of control and I headed home to snuggle with my man!!!  Not before taking a few pictures first!!  HAHA!  We were supposed to get 1/2" to 1 inch and we ended up getting 5 more inches of snow!!!  UGH!!  Is it spring yet??  Brady doesn't look too upset being outside...We were only out there for a minute though!!!  Bring on the sunshine - we are READY!!
